AC or DC
This one is a AC CDI
Most CDI’s are AC for scooters and buggies
If yours is working try disconnecting your battery, if your engine dies you have a DC CDI system. With an AC CDI it will continue to run.
Most CDI’s with large bodies tend to be DC / CDI’s with a body like a small matchbox tend to be AC
You can also tell by the wiring, if you have 3 or 4 wires going into the four plug that doesn’t make much difference, but if you have 2 wires going into the 2 plug this is likely to be a DC CDI / 1 wire going into the 2 plug means it is likely to be an AC CDI.
Beware there are anomalies to these rules but most CDI’s follow these rules
